Rhinoplasty is a procedure where aesthetic nose problems are addressed such as, size, wings, tip, dorsal hump or nasal hump, left or right nasal deviations. When it is found suitable, stem cells are applied to specific areas modifying the nasal outline.
The procedure is performed using local anaesthesia and sedation, typically lasting between half (1/2) an hour to one(1) hour. Recovery is expected to take between one(1) to three(3) weeks.
Is there an ideal nose type?
A harmonious and beautiful nose for you will be determined by your face size, shape and ethnic background. If you have chosen rhinoplasty as one of the procedures that you would like performed, we would first help determine the correct and most suitable nose, running computer simulations, in order to better visualize the potential outcome.
Is there an age limit to perform Rhinoplasty?
Prior to full development, usually before the age of 18, it is not appropriate to perform this surgery. During the development period all facial tissues are in a continuous process of change and growth. After development is completed then modifications can be performed. As adults age and their nose changes again, i.e grows in size or the tip drops. This can be an ideal time for a Rhinoplasty alone or Rhinoplasty can be undertaken as part of a more general facial rejuvenation procedure.
After rhinoplasty, will I be all swollen, have bruises around my eyes or in other areas of my face?
It is likely to have some bleeding beneath the skin which will result in bruising under the eyes and around the nose. In general, with the procedure used, the bruising around eyes, swelling in other areas of the face and discomfort is significantly reduced, or even non-existent.
