Appreciating the neck

The skin found in the neck area is usually more fragile than facial skin, requiring special care due to the rapid manner in which it ages. Having excessive fat or skin around the neck-face area even though you are slim may give an appearance of being older or overweight. Neck lifting or neck rejuvenation helps eliminate some of the aging in this area caused by extra skin and fat accumulation, returning one's neck to a fresh, younger and healthier look.

The following are some of the myths associated with neck lifting or neck rejuvenation.

Myths

"Will the skin stretching performed in neck rejuvenation affect my facial expression?"
Neck rejuvenation is a procedure where the neck and jowl skin is tightened, using special imperceptible sutures, and minimal incisions hidden below the chin, and behind the ear. The result is a healthy, younger and elegant look which due to its proximity to the face will produce a rejuvenating effect of the whole facial area, maintaining facial expression.
"Will I be very uncomfortable and in pain after the neck rejuvenation?"
The vast majority of patients do not complain of pain, only close to 10% of patients present temporary discomfort behind the earlobes and neck tension which disappears over time. Recovery is usually fast supported with the prescribed anti-inflammatory and painkillers. It usually takes 5 to 7 days to get back to work and up to a month to be able to exercise and receive direct sun. For normal recovery to go fast it is indispensable to comply with control appointments and with your post-op care sheet.
"I have saggy neck skin and need to correct it, but fear being left with many or visible scars."
Neck rejuvenation is done with minimal scarring. The procedure is carefully done in such a manner that both scarring and the visibility of scarring is minimized by strategically locating the scar tissue behind the ear lobes and under the chin.
"I am young but I have a double chin and so does most of my family. I feel like this makes me look older and fatter than I really am, should I wait until 40 to have neck rejuvenation?"
